MEMBERSHIP:
To gain membership, a person must be nominated by a member of the Privy Council and approved by the Directorate of Three by majority vote. Membership stands until death or removal by the council. The Privy Council may rescind membership through a 3/4th vote from the Chamber of Twelve and a 2/3rd vote from the Directorate of Three.
One general member per calendar month may receive an appointment to the Knights of the Gilded Beaver. The Directorate of Three selects a nominee and presents him or her to the Privy Council for a vote. A simple majority vote is required to appoint a member to the Knights of the Gilded Beaver.
THE PRIVY COUNCIL:
Members of the Privy Council serve as the official governing members of the Order. The Council is comprised of the Directorate of Three and the Chamber of Twelve. Appointments to the council and all other council decisions must be approved by both the majority of the council as well as the majority of the directorate. Should a decision receive a majority vote from the chamber but not the directorate, the decision will be vetoed. In the event of a veto, a unanimous chamber vote can override the directorate.
In the event that a member of the Chamber of Twelve is deemed unfit to serve, a motion may be put forth by any council member to remove the unfit councilor. The motion must receive a 3/4th vote from the Chamber of Twelve and a 2/3rd vote from the Directorate of Three. The member in question may not vote in the motion of their own removal, but he or she must be included in the proceedings.
A unanimous Privy Council vote is required to remove the Silver or Bronze Beaver. The member in question may not vote in the motion of their own removal, but he or she must be included in the proceedings. In the event of their removal, a member of the Chamber of Twelve will be chosen by the remaining members of the Directorate of Three to take their place.
Any member removed from the Privy Council retains membership in the Holy Order of the Gilded Beaver as well as their knighthood.
Should a member of the Chamber of Twelve resign or be removed via council vote, the remaining council members will elect a new council member from the general membership of the Order. The Directorate of Three will submit a nominee to the council; a simple majority vote is required to approve the new member for the council.
Should the Grand Gilded Beaver relinquish his position, whether by death or personal choice, the directorate shall be dissolved and the council shall hold conclave to elect a new Grand Gilded Beaver from their ranks. 3/4 of the Privy Council must approve the appointment of the new Grand Gilded Beaver. The new Grand Gilded Beaver will then appoint new Silver and Bronze Beavers.
THE GILDED BEAVER AWARD:
The Gilded Beaver Award is given annually to a citizen deemed by the Privy Council to have had a positive impact on the community. Gilded Beaver Award recipients are chosen by majority vote of the council. The award recipient cannot be a member of the Holy Order at the time of award receipt.
